Ep. 159 Backcountry Communication

Once you spend a little time in the outdoors you realize that cell phone signal doesn't always reach where you want to go. In most cases that's what makes being deep in the woods that much more peaceful, being able to totally disconnect for a period of time and just exist in nature. That's all good and well until you need a little help. Help can range from anything from emergency medical services to being able to communicate with other members of your party to help track our pack out a game animal. In this episode we'll sit down with Amateur Extra Ham radio operator and good friend of ours Tyke Woden to discuss the power of radio communication as well as some alternate forms of emergency communications for getting you the help you need and keeping you connected to the outside world.
