Ep. 264 A New Old Style with Dixie Decoys

Here lately I've been more inclined to take a step back from world of modern technology when it comes to the time i get to spend in the woods by picking up things like a recurve bow instead of a compound, investing in wool instead of fleece, trading camo for mute colors and plaid patterns and so on. So when given the opportunity to sit down with dixie decoys and discuss their modern take on traditional duck hunting gear I naturally jumped right on it. It's interesting to look at the history of some of the original camo patterns like frog skin camouflage. Frog skin was the United States first attempt at disruptive coloration camouflage and was first issued to the marines in 1942, and by the 1980s was in widespread use in hunting garments. Dixie Decoys offers a version of that and a lot more traditional water fowling attire but we’ll get more into all of that in the episode.
